Santa Fe County Mobile Health Van

Mission: To provide free health screenings for Santa Fe County residents. To assist Santa Fe County residents with finding a medical home, regardless of income or health coverage. To promote healthy behaviors, provide health education, and target communities at risk for health disparities. To improve overall health outcomes for Santa Fe County residents.

Where does the van go? The Santa Fe County Mobile Health Van travels all over Santa Fe County, including City and County Senior Centers, City and County Housing Authority and Community Centers, supermarkets, pueblo community centers, food distribution sites, health fairs, the Santa Fe County Fair, libraries, and schools.

What kinds of services do you provide? Blood pressure screening, oxygen assessment, blood glucose screening, total cholesterol screening, flu vaccines, BMI testing, and we have health information in English and Spanish. We also have printed information on community health centers, dental providers, eye care providers, behavioral health providers, and the Santa Fe County Discount Drug Card.

Is there a doctor on the van? No, we have a registered nurse, an outreach person, and a driver. We provide screenings and immunizations only, and do not diagnose and treat illnesses. The nurse can assess your problem and help you find a doctor or provider if needed.

Is there a charge for these services? No, all services are free of charge.

How long has the van been operating? The van has been in operation since 2005 and Santa Fe County took over full operation of the van in 2007.
