Lobbying / Legislative Initiatives

Santa Fe County utilizes staff and or Elected Officials to see that Santa Fe County priorities are accomplished in accordance with the Board of County Commissioners (BCC) direction. Often times the BCC will pass a resolution in support of specific priorities.

Rudy Garcia is the Santa Fe County Legislative Liaison Project Manager and is a Santa Fe County employee.

Santa Fe County is a member of New Mexico Association of Counties (NMAC), and pays annual membership dues in the amount of $40,400 per fiscal year. The membership dues are not strictly for lobbying services, but include this service. NMAC assists all 33 counties in New Mexico with lobbying efforts. NMAC is the only funded lobbying association that Santa Fe County belongs to and the lobbying priorities are based on the NMAC Board priorities.
